Question:  Will God forgive me for my past sins?

ANSWER:
Those sinners that have a saving faith in Jesus Christ have received forgiveness for all their sins and have received the free gift of eternal life.1  This gift is not earned or deserved but is by God’s grace.2  The principal acts of saving faith are accepting, receiving, and resting upon Christ alone for justification and peace with God as he is offered in the Gospel.3   This justification and peace with God is made possible by Jesus Christ4 who died on the cross to pay the penalty for the sins of those who believe.5  Just as saving faith is a gift from God, so to is repentance6 which will cause the sinner to have a sense of sorrow7 for his sin and a desire to turn away from sin.8   This will lead the sinner to seek pardon and cleansing from God.9  For those without saving faith and repentance, God’s wrath and condemnation remains on them.10  The answer to the question then is yes or no depending on your relationship with Jesus Christ.  If it is presently no, then I urge you to seek Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord.  Contact us and we will be glad to assist you.
