Shepherd's Gate Class
Classes begin in March, June, September

Church Membership
Our church receives members in any one three ways:

1.  Profession of Faith (and baptism if not previously baptized).
2.  Reaffirmation of Faith
3.  Letter of Transfer

Questions for Membership (Vows)

1.  Do you acknowledge yourself to be a sinner in the sight of God, justly deserving His displeasure, and without hope save in His sovereign mercy?
2.  Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and Savior of sinners, and do you receive and rest upon Him alone for salvation as He is offered in the Gospel?
3.  Do you now resolve and promise, in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, that you will endeavor to live as becomes a follower of Christ.
4.  Do you promise to support the church in its worship and work to the best of your ability?
5.  Do you submit yourselves to the government and discipline of the church, and promise to study its purity and peace?

Those interested in joining our church are invited to attend The Shepherd’s Gate class (commonly known in many churches as a New Members/Inquirers Class) where the gospel of Christ is presented and where our church’s vision for carrying out its mission is communicated.  You will find the schedule for this class printed in the weekly bulletin. 

At the conclusion of this class, individuals and families who desire to join the church are invited to meet with the pastor prior to meeting with the Session where individuals desiring membership will be asked to share personal testimonies concerning their relationship with Christ Jesus and to take the customary vows of membership.  Following this acceptance into the church, a time of corporate worship will be planned where these vows can be made publicly before the congregation and where the congregation may be introduced to the new members and welcome them personally.
