Coming to Christ through the Call of Kingdom Knowledge

Matthew 13:47-50
47“Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish. 48When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away. 49This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous 50and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Introduction to the Series: The parables of Jesus for over two millenniums have captivated and exuded a life-shaping influence and impact on the people of God from the most educated biblical scholars to the newest and ripest converts. Because of their unique ability to present the preaching and teaching of kingdom principles in a picture so easily understood by everyone, the question becomes not whether the kingdom of God is applicable to the lives of men, but whether each person is willing to accept and embrace the teaching and the call of the kingdom upon their lives. This series of sermons presents the parables from a perspective never taught before as we freshly examine them through the framework and message of Jesus’ own preaching as expounded in the Sermon on the Mount. Prepare to be drawn not only to the teaching of the parables, but to a fuller and more fulfilling relationship with the preacher himself, Jesus Christ!

Thematic Approach: Looking at the parables of Jesus from the perspective of the Sermon on the Mount
