The theological beliefs that are expressed in these meditations would best be described as that system of doctrine that is contained in the Westminster Confession of Faith and is also referred to as reformed theology. There is one photograph and one Bible verse per meditation to illustrate or make a point. This is followed by a short paragraph or two for emphasis. This means that only a very brief overview of the subject is given. Entire books have been written about most of these doctrines, so what is given here is just a snippet and in many cases just a particular part of the doctrine and not a comprehensive explanation. The dictionary says the following about the word meditation: a discourse intended to express its author's reflections or to guide others in contemplation. That is the purpose for these meditations. |
