I Will Remember (Psalm 77)

Psalm 77 I Will Remember Introduction Read Psalm 77 Kidner “By the end of the psalm the pervasive ‘I’ has disappeared, and the objective facts of the faith have captured all his attention and all of ours.” Inward Despair (1-9) Tholuck, “Asaph’s faith did not waver; he knew that they who perseveringly and believingly knock at the door, will sooner or later get admittance…They are real men of prayer with whom, when answers fail to be forthcoming, the thirst for…

The Son Is Heir and Creator (Hebrews 1:1-4)

The Heir and Agent of Creation (Hebrews 1:2b) Brad Mills / General Adult Hebrews / Authority / Hebrews 1:1–2 This opening prologue establishes the outline for the whole message. Time and again the author will show how the Old Testament points forward to Jesus. Jesus is better than the prophets, angels, and sacrificial system. The full and final installment of his progressive special revelation is given to us by his Son. In him, all the promises of the Law found their fulfillment…

In Authority, Under Christ (Ephesians 6:9)

The Westminster Larger Catechism 127 gives several examples of “the honor that inferiors owe to their superiors” including “willing obedience to their lawful commands and counsels,” (referencing Eph. 6:1-2,…
